My Story Works

My all-time-best teacher and mentor, Patricia Ryan-Madson, shared some useful tools from her award-winning Improv lessons taught to various age groups at Stanford. Here are a few of them:

  5. Which results in a safe return and a happy ending.

Instant Story (Story Spine)

  • Until my early teen years, I had a stutter. In elementary school, I needed to see a speech pathologist to help me pronounce the letter "r"
  • Speaking in public terrified me. Many tools and mentors helped me break out of my shell and feel comfortable in my own skin
  • Of all the tools and techniques, improvisation helped me the most
  • I want to provide this service to young people because these are tools that allowed me to get over myself and feel connected to others
